Finding It

Might keep throwing stuff up on here, but I would go to my tumblr or art station just in case.

Batman: Arkham Origins - Part 2

Preface that I wrote from my last post;

"It's done, first project got done and now its out! Cool! I got to work on the Multiplayer for Batman Arkham Origins. It was a great first project, I learned so much , and my concept-bros on the team for Batman, Manuel and Georgi did some sick work too. I'm sure they'll be posting soon. Shout-outs to Myles Lambert, Angelo Del Pra, Mark McCleod, and Josh Grafton for turning this into the real-3Deal, and Tim Appleby for art directing it all."

So heres the second post!
Got some stuff from 2 more maps; Jokers Funhouse, and the cancelled Rooftops map (shame beacause it was looking pretty good). Also a few item/weapon props, I enjoyed these a lot. I did more of the normal weapons, but they were my early work with weapons and the presentation/paintings suck. The designs weren't too bad though, I liked the monster Joker pistol and the light assault rifle I did.

Joker's second Pistol, and two Bane gang Items. The Sonic Pulse and the Tactical Dart.
These are some of favorite concepts. Especially Jokers pistol because it fucking rocks in game. Fully auto explosive rounds, it wrecks fools. So awesome.

The Rooftops map
Really liked some of what we had with this. Really wanted to push a strong art deco vision of Gotham onto it. Could of been cool.

A Mixture of props from several maps, and some signage for Jokers Funhouse

Concepts for Jokers Funhouse.
This was where I really started to figure out using 3D is INSANELY useful. Is a small crutch, but a MASSIVE time saver, and you can get some really good stuff out of. People able to pass 3D onto other people is also very helpful. I Went 3D, and I'm never going back.

Batman: Arkham Origins - Part 1

It's done, first project got done and now its out! Cool! I got to work on the Multiplayer for Batman Arkham Origins. It was a great first project, I learned so much , and my concept-bros on the team for Batman, Manuel and Georgi did some sick work too. I'm sure they'll be posting soon. Shout-outs to Myles Lambert, Angelo Del Pra, Mark McCleod, and Josh Grafton for turning this into the real-3Deal, and Tim Appleby for art directing it all.

For Part 1 you get to see 2 maps, BlackGate Prison and WonderCity Robot Factory, so lots of environments for those with a side of props. Then I also worked on 2 other maps and a bunch of the guns and items, but you'll see them next post. Not all of these will go on CGHub, so maybe enjoy some of this pre-order-only blog-specific DLC, by being at the source!

Enjoy!

Wondercity Robot Factory
My favourite map on the project, and it really felt quite like 'my' map. I worked solo for a lot of it, with good direction from Tim and Georgi, and then the guys did an amazing job building it, it was very faithful to the concepts.

BlackGate Prison
My first map on the project, so its all to bad to posting much! Maybe one day I'll get the courage to post all the awful work I did at the beginning....

Waste of Resources

I really should be posting more. I'm busy working on my own little unity project though, it doesn't involve much painting though :/ I could post some, but I need a scanner. Infact I might do that tomorrow.

A 'reimagining' of an old neuromancer piece and the only piece that's been released from work. Its from Extraction, our new PC-F2P-FPS that will be out... sometime (probably 2014 for open beta)! I should mention the second picture is a paintover, so the underlying geometry was in place, but we really need to push some more things by adding some more details.

Also Batman: Arkham Origins got released, we did the multiplayer for it and I designed a tonne of stuff for it. Was a great project to work on and hopefully we'll get a bunch of stuff A-OKed to release and I'll post some with some details (only the small amount of stuff I think doesn't suck though, I was VERY green when I started.)

Dangerous Waters

Just a little something done at work. Over a few more lunch times than normal. I still don't think its very long on it though. Probably like 5-6 hours. Would love to spend a week full time running through from thumbs to full painting on something crazy. Maybe I'll start something for Paul Richards; Substrata.

All my paintings work have poo in the name :/

Just a few pieces from work lunch times again. Second one was going to be for some CGhub voodoo competition, but I'm probably too lazy to finish it. Its supposed to be a drowned voodoo priest, maybe he pissed off some pirates or something. First one is some brush experiments. I really like what I found, I'd link them if I could remember where I got them. cyacyacya.

There's Probably No Time!

I start a lot more paintings and drawings then I finish at work, but here's a few. I have been trying to sketch more recently too but I still don't have my scanner with me. I should probably pick up a flat bed to use. An assortment of the usual pap. Last one was accidentally very Paul Pope, I think its the colours. Hopefully I can I find something else to post soon!

Adventures!

Here's 'something' I'm currently working on. First time modelling something with a purpose, same goes for texturing/rigging/skinning and animating!! Currently doing my first walk cycle. I've also been doing a lot of stuff about teaching myself Unity, and Javascript to go with it. So hopefully I can get some animations done and program it into a little game idea I've had. Might be collaborating with some people at work too.

Also doing some stuff I'm really happy with at work, but can't post it as usual, its depressing because my website is looking increasingly outdated to me. Also one of our games got announced and I'm working on it at the moment. Check it out, https://secure.warchest.com/dirtybomb/, I wanna get back into posting more work, especially now I'm keeping my DOTA2 habits in check.
